Elizabeth Kendall Hurst Stein is my great great grandmother. There is a headstone in the Mt Hope cemetery in Maquoketa in the Hurst plot. On the top of the stone it says Mother, front of the stone says Eliza wife of Chas Stein and gives date of death Sept 22, 1926 age 72. It's interesting that the obit says she is buried at Blue Grass. Maybe the Mt Hope stone is just a marker for rememberence? I will post the stone on findagrave.com so you can see it. I did not check with Mt Hope cemetery to see if they have further information. Elizabeth's first husband was Abraham Hurst from England. I'm not sure where Abraham is buried but he lived in Davenport at the time. I wonder if Charles and James (Augusta's husband) were brothers.
