Hi Michael-
I have some info on some of the info you posted. It was my g-g-grandfather's log cabin, Johann (John) Kempker, where the first mass was said in Lee County back in 1835. That was the origin of St. James Parish.
Also, my g-grandfather, Gerhard Heinrich Kempker married Maria C. Gertrude Menke. Two of my uncles married Menke cousins as well.
