I got Emily Umbreit's death certificate Monday. Father: George Hogbin, mother Mary ?. She was definitely Emily Hogbin Phelps. Plus I found Richard Robert Umbreit's WW I draft reg., 1918. He listed his wife as Emily Phelps Umbreit. I wonder if I can get divorce records from Dubuque? Now I'm suspicious that their son Ellis Umbreit may be Arthur Joseph Dillon, my mother's brother. They were both born in June, 1918, in the same house. Arthur supposedly died, but we can't find the record. Emily at age 43 was kind of old to have a child, especially after yellow fever. I wonder if they adopted him and changed his name? This is what happened to my mother, and only the adoption papers have this information.
