I have a family that lived at Mechanicsville in 1870+. GEORGE LEE died at Mechanicsville on March 12, 1871 leaving a wife and one year old son. I was wondering if there was a newspaper there at that time. He was a Civil War veteran.He is buried at Pioneer Grove Cemetery according to the WPA 1939 cemetery survey. I am also looking for an obit on GEORGE JUSTICE, died Oct 30, 1893. He lived in Rome Twp, Jones Co, but is also buried in Pioneer Grove Cemetery. He is George Lee's father in law. Any info greatly appreciated.
