OBITUARY

Peter T. Johnson

Peter T. Johnson was born in Denmark on the 20th day of December, 1866. He came to America with his parents at the age of three months and spent his entire life on the old homestead 2 1/2 miles south of Story City, with the exception of a little over a year in Colorado and 5 years in a hardware store in Story City.

On March 11, 1896, he was united in marriage to Louise Egenes of McCallsburg, Iowa.

Mr. Johnson's health began to fail last winter, but not until two weeks before his death had he been considered seriously sick, and with the best of medical aid he passed away from heart failure Sept. 14th, 1927, to the Great Beyond. His wife and sons, Jesse and Clifford, were at his bedside as he departed.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife and four children, namely, Mrs. Grace Rasmussen of Kenyon, Minn., Benford of Freeport, Ill., and Jesse and Clifford at home, and four grandchildren. Also three sisters and two brothers, vix. Mrs. S. R. Corneliussen of this place, Mrs. J. W. Strong of Des Moines, Mrs. Tynie Danielson of Douglas, Mich., J. C. and C. F. Johnson of this place.

Funeral services were held on Sept. 17th, at 2 o'clock at the St. Petri church, where he had been a faithful member for many years, and laid to rest in the Fairview cemetery, the Rev. W. B. Scarvie offiiating.
