DROWNED.--Monday evening about 5 o'clock Raymond Hall, aged 8 years, son of N. H. Hall, living two miles northwest of town, was drowned in White Breast creek just below the covered bridge west of town, while in bathing with severel other boys about his age. The boy was unable to swim and got beyond his depth. The other boys being so badly frightened, or from some other cause, made no attempt to save him. Mr. Hall was in town at the time of the accident but word was immediately sent to him, and he, in company with several others from town, hastened to the scene, but the boy's body had been recovered by James Norris and others before the party arrived. The blow was a severe one on the parents and they have the sympathy of all. The funeral occurred yesterday.
