Mrs. Kern (Mildred) Jones, 72, died Friday at her home at 115 East Beech, Cherokee, of an apparent heart attack. She had been a resident of Cherokee all her life.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee. Dr. Delmar Carlson will officiate.

Burial will be Oak Hill Cemetery. A family prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Monday.

She was born Dec. 29, 1915, in Meriden to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Olson. On Dec. 17, 1947, she married Kern Jones.

She is preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 21, 1972, her parents and 10 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by three sons, Harry, Ervin and Edward Jones, all of Cherokee; three daughters, Patty Gosch, Parkersburg; Mrs. LuVerne (Linda) Vannatta and Diane Jones, both Cherokee; one sister, Mrs. Albia Holloway, Aurelia; one brother, Ray Olson, Cherokee, and nine grandchildren.
