Mother of J. D. Virtue Victim of Influenza

Mrs. John Virtue, mother of J. D. Virtue, died at her home at Danbury at 9 o'clock last Friday night after having been ill since the middle of
December, when she contracted influenza. Mrs. Virtue was 84 years old.

Born at Independence, Pa., August 20, 1844, Mrs. Virtue came to Danbury in 1884, settling on a farm one mile south of that town. There she and her
husband resided until the spring of 1921 when they moved to town to retire.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Virtue is survived by two sons and one daughter—J. D. Virtue, of Mapleton, and John Virtue and Mrs. W. H. Richards,
of Danbury.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Danbury Methodist church with Rev. Roy Cox in charge. Burial was in the Danbury cemetery.

Mapletonians who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Virtue, Paul Hollister, T. H. Schoenjahn, I. D. Albright, Mr. and Mrs. D. D.
Cameron, Mrs. Isador Brenner and Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Schrunk.
