Arlon D. Danker, 64, of Sioux City died Thursday, May 22, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief battle with cancer.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Stacey Gerhart officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Arlon D. Danker was born March 15, 1944, in Sioux City, the son of Edward and Elsie (Eisentraut) Danker. He attended Sioux City schools. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army.

He married Dixie Busser on June 15, 1968 in South Sioux City. He was employed with A.D.M. for more than 25 years.

He enjoyed ice fishing, camping, gardening, the outdoors, his job and working. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Dixie Danker of Sioux City; a son, Michael Danker of Sioux City; two daughters, Renee (Ron) Peterson of Sergeant Bluff and Cindy (Joe) Erickson of Sioux City; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Quentin (Ivy) Danker of Chino Valley, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother and father-in-law; and a brother, Leon.

Pallbearers will be Darrel Anderson, Bernard Garner, Bill Koontz, Gerry LeMoine, Joe Thompson and Jerald Mahr. Honorary pallbearers will be Martin Heger and Darren Honsbruch.
