B.D. "Hi" Stevenson

Bazzil D. "Hi" Stevenson, son of Arthur and Martha Heise Stevenson, was born August 5, 1901 near Bonaparte and died Wednesday morning, March 9, 1988 at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center, Keosauqua, at the age of 86.

He lived a number of years at Memphis, Missouri where he was a mechanic and farmer. He had operated a service station in Keosauqua and was a member of Keosauqua Branch, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He married Opal Wolf Hervey April 10, 1948 at Memphis.

Surviving are is wife; a stepson, Byron Hervey, Keosauqua; two stepdaughters, Valara Ferris, Keokuk and Marie Hanson, La Cygne, Kansas; seven step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Paul Stevenson, Arbela, Missouri and four sisters, May Jones, Burlington, Florence Beggs and Gertrude Williams, both of Boulder City, Nevada and Ruth Miller, Tishomingo, Mississippi.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 10, 1988 in the Keosauqua Branch, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Don Skog, Branch President, conducting. Interment was in Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington. A memorial was established for his church. Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, was in charge of arrangements.
