Smith Rites Thursday

Mrs. Maude Smith, 89, 403 South Court, died at 2:30 a.m. today at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Keosauqua where she had been a patient since Sept. 9.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. J.E. Dorman officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m.

Maude Smith was born March 8, 1888, in Fairfield. She was the daughter of A.W. and Margaret Gossick Brown. She was reared and educated in Fairfield and attended State Teachers College at Cedar Falls.

Her marriage to Wilbur C. Smith took place in July, 1911. he preceded his wife in death in 1953. Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include a brother, Ralph Brown, Fairfield; one niece and one nephew.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
