LOHRVILLE - Bertha Kelley, 90, a former Fairfield resident, died Monday at Shady Oak Care Center in Lake City.

The body will be brought to the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield on Wednesday where friends may call after 4 p.m. Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff officiating. Burial will be in the Eldon Cemetery.

The daughter of Lewis and Ellen Bishop Berlet, she was born April 24, 1887 in Sumner County, Kansas.

On March 16, 1904, she was married to John V. Kelley at Ottumwa. He preceded her in death in 1964.

They were engaged in farming in the Selma, Libertyville and Batavia areas until 1957 when they retired and moved to 305 W. Madison, Fairfield. In 1974, she moved to Lohrville area. She is survived by one son, B.E. Kelley, Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Cecile Harshman, Calimesa, Calif., and Verda Brown, Lohrville; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was a member of United Methodist Church of Batavia and the Lohrville Garden Club. She was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, three sisters and three brothers.
