Services For Parsons, 87

Services for Jay H. Parsons, 87, of Gladbook, formerly of Fairfield, were held Jan. 13 in Gladbrook. Parsons died Jan. 11 at Westbrook Acres Nursing Home.

He was born Jan. 21, 1890 in Douds, the son of Millard and Eliza Rambo Parsons. He was married March 25, 1914 to Elizabeth Morrow. They farmed in the Douds area and he later worked as a carpenter in the Fairfield and Gladbrook areas. He was a member of the Union Local 767 Carpenters and Joiners of America.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Eloise Bureker, Nashville, Ind.; and a son, C.D. Parsons, Gladbrook; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Leslie of Sunland, Calif., and Mark of Sun City, Ariz., four sisters, Ethyl Smith of Fairfield, Etha Gay of Sun City, Ariz., Eleanor Fickle of Fairfield and Edna Reams of Sun City, Ariz.
