Milton J. Campbell

The service for Milton Jay Campbell, 81, who died Sunday, July 29, was held Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 2 p.m., at the Milton United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dale Church. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 28, 1892, in Milton, the son of James Allen and Mary Luella Helso Campbell. In 1921, he married Marie Scotten, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are two sons, William of Burlington and Jack of Tucson, Ariz.; five daughters, Mrs. Vivian Roberts of Milton, Mrs. Betty Taylor of Bettendorf, Mrs. Donald Miller of Gila Bend, Ariz., Mrs. Patsy Ash of Wapello, and Mrs. Margarete Casady of Las Vegas, Nev. 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He had lived at the Burlington Union Hotel for several years and was employed as a post office custodian in Burlington. When he lived in Milton, he was a mail carrier. He was a World War I veteran.
