Edith Marie French

Edith Marie French, 72, of Farmington died at 1 p.m. Wednesday November 8 at Sacred Heart hospital, Ft. Madison.

She was born December 5, 1899 in Clark County, Mo. the daugther of Thomas and Maggie Harper French. She never married. She was a long time resident of Farmington and was a retired school teacher, having taught 23 years in Ft. Madison and 23 years in Farmington.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church Farmington, Chapter O, P.E.O., the Past Matrons Club, the W.S.C.S., the Bible Study Club and the National Retired Teachers Association.

Surviving are two brothers, Ralph French of Memphis, Mo. and Ernest of Farmington, two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Collins of Farmington and Mrs. Rita McPherson of Revere Mo., several nieces and nephews. She was preced in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday Nov. 11 in the United Methodist Church, Farmington, the Rev. Edw. Maus officiated. Burial in the Kahoka Mo. cemetery. A memorial has been established for the United Methodist Church, Farmington.
