Mrs. Mae Newbold Dick

Mrs. Mae Newbold Dick, 92, of Hillsboro, died Monday, Oct. 30, in Jefferson county hospital, Fairfield.

She was born May 13, 1880, at Hillsboro, the daughter of Robert E. and Sara Ann Craig Graves. She married George Eugene Newbold, and after his death married Archie Dick in 1955.

Surviving are one son, Robert G. Newbold of Memphis, Mo.; six grandchildren, Mrs. Leona Boyce of Fairfield, Mrs. Treva Phelps of Hillsboro, Rex Ridgeway of Fairfield, John Newbold of Hillsboro, Roger Newbold of Burlington, Tyler Newbold of Keosauqua; 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, one daughter, one sister and two brothers.

Mrs. Dick raised two of her grandchildren after the death of their mother, Roger and John (Bob) Newbold.

Mrs. Dick was a charter member of the Royal Neighbors of America, for 68 years and the last living charter member in this area. She was a member of the lege, Mt. Pleasant. She taught school for three years.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 at the Hillsboro Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Stumbo and Rev. Lester Smith officiating. Burial was in the Hillsboro cemetery.
