Forrest Simmons

FARMINGTON - Forrest Simmons, 62, of Farmington, died unexpectedly Wednesday at 4:45 p.m. in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital at Keosauqua.

He was born July 5, 1909, in Van Buren County, son of Roy and Dora Reisner Simmons. He married Freda Fetters on Dec. 4, 1940, at Fort Madison. She survives. He was an auto mechanic.

He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Dora Simmons of Farmington; three sons, Robert and Larry, both of Farmington, and Gary of Kahoka, Mo.; two daughters, Doris Hall of Springfield, Mo., and Dorothy Hall of Bradyville, Mo.; and one brother, Elvin Simmons of Farmington; and seven grandchildren. His father and one granddaughter preceded him in death.

Services will be Friday, 10 a.m., at Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home here with the Rev. Gary Worsham officiating. Burial in Green Glade Cemetery.
