Louise Snyder Lanam, age 86, died July 24, 2017, at the Mount Hope Hospice Center, Mount Hope, PA. Born December 22, 1930, the daughter of Roy and Ruby Snyder, she was married to Jackson Morris Lanam for 69 years. She graduated from Stockport High School in 1948 and traveled the United States and the world extensively during her husband's 30-year naval Caec.

She dedicated her life to what she considered to be her most important calling, that of devoted wife and full-time mother. Nothing gave her more pleasure than loving, nurturing, and teaching their children, which she never stopped doing, even after they became adults and left home to follow their respective life's callings. She led them to have a deep personal faith in the Triune
God, teaching them to pursue integrity, humility, purity, diligence, courage, and faithfulness to duty. By personal example, she taught them to persevere joyously in the face of adversity. Outside her family, she loved to teach children about the love of God and of salvation through her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

While living in Falls Church and Virginia Beach, VA, and in Quarryville, PA, she was faithfully involved with Child Evangelism Fellowship and other children's Christian Bible programs. As a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ, her life was a constant and continual ministry to friends and strangers alike.

She is survived by her children: Kip Arthur Lanam, and his wife Phyllis of Stafford, VA, and Jana Lanam Furr of Virginia Beach, VA, as well as three grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Jeri Snyder Pratt of Chillicothe, MO. Cremains will be privately interred at the Spencer Cemetery located northeast of Stockport, IA, at a later date.
