Glenda Vollink, 77, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars.

Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Calvin Christian Reformed Church in Le Mars. Pastor Brian Hofman will officiate. Private family interment will at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation will resume from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Glenda Kay Vollink, the daughter of Herman and Henrietta (Van Maanen) Kempema, was born on August 11, 1946, in Le Mars, Iowa. She grew up in Rock Valley, Iowa and attended grade school at Rock Valley Christian. She attended high school at Hull Western Christian and graduated in 1964.

She was united in marriage to Fred Vollink on October 14, 1966, at the Rock Valley Christian Reformed Church. They lived in Hull, Iowa until 1971, when they moved to Le Mars. Glenda worked for JCPenney in Le Mars and later in Sioux City until her retirement.

Glenda was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church in Le Mars. She and Fred enjoyed many motorcycle trips across the states and also spent many years vacationing at Lake of the Ozarks with various family and friends.After their retirement, she and Fred enjoyed traveling. They visited many states, including Hawaii. She enjoyed planning their many trips to New York to visit their grandchildren. Glenda enjoyed shopping, canning salsa, and many social events with her friends and extended family members. She was always in touch with her adult children and was always willing to help in a pinch whenever there was a need. She received much joy in giving thoughtful gifts to others. Her pride and joy was in being a dotinggrandmother to her three grandsons. She will be remembered by many for her bubbly personality and her happy, joyful outlook on life.

Survivors include her husband, Fred of Le Mars, IA; her daughter, Holly Vollink-Lent (Andrew Lent) of Rochester, New York; 3 grandchildren: Calvin Vollink of Sioux Falls, SD, Samuel Lent of Kingston, RI, and Maxwell Lent of Rochester, NY; her brothers: Wally (Jolaine) Kempema of Sioux Falls, SD, Arnold Kempema of Rock Valley, IA, Marvin (Lola) Kempema of McCormick, SC, and Curtis (Darlene) Kempema of Ventura, CA; a sister in law, Diane Kempema of Rock Valley, IA; and several other in laws, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her father and mother-in-law, Fred and Hattie Vollink; and her beloved son, Barry Vollink and her dear brother, Harlyn Kempema.
