Mrs. Nicholas J. “Nick” Ahles died Tuesday morning after a lingering illness of cancer. Mrs. Ahles was former Mary Z. Thorman and came here from Chicago with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maximillian Thorman 27 years ago. She was 45 years of age last Sunday.

She was married to Mr. Ahles 21 years ago last November and to them seven children were born, four boys and three girls, the oldest being 20 and the youngest 5 years of age. Her mother Mrs.Katherine (Fetz) Thorman survives her; also brothers and sisters, Mrs. John H. Miller, Nick, John J., George P., Henry D., Joseph, Mrs. John Lammers, Mrs. N.T. Schwebach and Chris.

The funeral was held from St. Joseph’s Church Friday morning at 9:30 o’clock and the remains placed in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The bereaved have the sympathy of the entire community.
