LYLE LYNCH

Lyle Lynch, 79, of State Center, formerly of What Cheer and the Malcom area died Sunday, Nov. 28, at State Center Manor.

A graveside service was conducted Wednesday at the Sheridan Cemetery northeast of Grinnell, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The son of William Thomas and Josie Badger Lynch, he was born April 28, 1920, in Malcom. After the death of his mother, he moved to What Cheer and was raised by his aunt and uncle, Ethel and Frank Hixson. He was home-schooled.

During the 1940s and 50s, he owned and operated Lynch's Television Shop in What Cheer. He retired because of health problems. He had been a resident of State Center Manor since 1980.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his aunt and uncle who raised him, and one brother, Truman.

A Lyle Lynch Memorial Fund has been established.
