HEART ATTACK FATAL
FOR HARVEY SPADING

A heart attack proved fatal to Harvey Spading, 54, last Thursday morning at St. Francis hospital in Grinnell where he had been admitted May 24 after suffering a sudden attack at his home east of Brooklyn.

Funeral services were conducted at St. Bridget's church in Victor Saturday, June 6, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. F.H. Hoenig officiating. Interment was in Calvary cemetery at Victor with Francis DeMeulenaere, Gene DeCoster, Merne Anderson, Clarence Dusterhoft, M.W. Felton and Elmer Nowotny serving as pallbearers.

The son of Albert and Mary Spading, Harvey Spading was born January 7, 1910, three miles southeast of Brooklyn, and died June 4, 1964. At the age of three he moved with his family to a farm eight miles northwest of Brooklyn.

On May 24, 1938, he was married to Angelina Walsh of Parnell. The couple farmed northwest of Brooklyn for three years and moved to a farm southeast of Victor where they lived three years before purchasing a farm west of Carnforth where they have since made their home.

Mr. Spading was a member of St. Bridget's church, Knights of Columbus of Victor and had served as trustee of Warren township for many years.

Survivors include his wife and five children: Mrs. Richard (Mary K.) Wright of Burlington, Janet of Iowa City, Rose Marie of Chicago and John and Michele, at home. Three grandchildren also survive.

He also leaves five sisters and two brothers. They are Edith Spading, Mrs. Myrtle Ormiston, Mrs. Robert (Marie) Roudabush and Mrs. Paul (Gladys) Paynter, all of Brooklyn, Mrs. Clark (Kathryn) Metz of Momence, Ill., Ross Spading of Brooklyn and Marvin Spading of Marengo.
