In Response To: Marriage; birth (Peggy Pierce-Fitzgerald)

Edna Maude Scott
Born: September 12, 1908 in Hornick, Woodbury Co., Iowa
Died: August 9, 1991, Spencer, Clay Co., Iowa
Married: Leendert (Leonard) Tames, Feb. 7, 1927 in Centerville, Turner Co., South Dakota
Married: Frank (Francis) Edgar Pierce, July 31, 1934 in Laurens, Pocahontas Co., Iowa
I have her birth record and death record. I don’t need anything like that.
She gave birth to Donald Dean (Pierce), June 21, 1934 (Don is still alive living in Spencer). I have his birth certificate that states his father’s name was Gilbert Horst. But it also says that he is the 2nd living and now living birth of Edna. It also says that Donald was born legitimate. So I would say that she might had been married to his father Gilbert Horst and possibly divorced before Don was born. I have also heard that she had to marry Frank Pierce to make an honest woman of her.
What I am looking for is this:
A marriage certificate to Gilbert Horst
A marriage Certificate to Frank Pierce
Any divorce records that you can find.
A name or record of Edna giving birth to her first child. I am guessing somewhere between 1930-1933. I think someone found a name for me once, which was a boy, but I can’t find it.
Maybe she gave birth to a boy in Laurens area.
Also on my father’s birth record it states that he is the 3rd child born alive and still living.
Maybe she was so young that she gave away her child to family to raise.????
So Edna could have gone by a few different names:
Edna Maude Scott (maiden name)
Edna Tames (first husband)
Edna Horst (possibly 2nd husband)
Edna Johnson (step father’s last name)
