Services Held For Frances Sarah Fisher Waddell

Frances Sarah Fisher Waddell, daughter of James and Carolyn Fisher was born August 2, 1888 at Selden, Sheriden County, Kansas. She died April 3, 1978, at Sioux City, Iowa having reached the age of 89 years, 8 months and 1 day.

The family moved to Danbury, Iowa in November 1888. She joined the Methodist Church at 11 years of age and graduated from Oto high school June 2, 1904.

She was teacher in Woodbury and Monona County Schools for 12 years and of the beginner's class in Sunday School for 30 years.

On December 6, 1917, she married Ray A. Waddell near Danbury and three children were born to this marriage, Marjorie Pearl, Warren Everett and Ernest Raymond.

The family farmed until October 1947 when they moved to Mapleton.

Services were held Thursday, April 6, 1978, at 10:30 a.m. at the Walter Chapel at Mapleton, Iowa with Rev. Louis Aitken officiating. Burial was in the Danbury Cemetery at Danbury, Iowa.

Pallbearers were Raymond Luschen, Arnold Westhoff, Lawrence Buoey, Gary Thies, Rudolph Madison, and Ralph Martin.

Survivors include three children, one granddaughter, and two great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
