Orville A. Uhl, 73, 2429 Williams Ave., died Sunday, March 1, 1992, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton, with the Rev. John Brennan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with vigil wake service at 8 p.m., at Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mr. Uhl was born Feb. 23, 1919, in Mapleton, the son of Fred and Emma (Hamann) Uhl. He farmed in the Mapleton community until retiring to Sioux City in 1975.

Survivors include a brother and his wife, Melvin and Evelyn Uhl of Onawa, Iowa; three nephews and their wives, Richard and Jennie Voss, Ronald and Jeanne Uhl and Terry and Devera Uhl; and three nieces, Sharon and her husband, Dave Mesker, Glennis and her husband, Bill Schneider, and Cindy Gilbert.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard; and a sister, Ruby Voss Anderson.
