22 February 1970LEWIS UHL, 87, Mapleton, Iowa. -- Died Feb. 21 at a Sioux City hospital. Funeral 10 a.m. Feb. 24, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Danbury, Iowa, Rev. Edward Huffman. Burial church cemetery, Rosary 7:30 p.m. Feb. 23, Walter Funeral Home, Mapleton.
Born Aug. 7, 1882, near Mapleton. Married Celia Prokop April 5, 1910, at Danbury. Farmed near Mapleton, Oto Township school director several' years, former Liston Township trustee, former director Federal Land Bank.
Survivors: Widow; daughter Mrs. Robert Parker of Santa Rosa, Calif.; sons George J. of Battle Creek, Iowa, Gilbert F. of Danbury, Paul and Louis, both of Alhambra, Calif., 20 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
