MAPLETON — Mrs. Ida Catherine Seuntjens, 94, of Mapleton, formerly of Breda and Danbury, died Friday, April 19, at the Maple Heights Nursing Home, Mapleton, where she had resided for the last two years.

Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury, with burial in the parish cemetery. The Revs. Cleo Seuntjens and LeRoy Seuntjens will concelebrate the mass; the homily will be delivered by the Rev. Robert Thiele. Arrangements are under direction of the Walter Funeral Home, Mapleton, where rosaries will be recited Monday at 7:30 p.m. by the Rosary Society and at 8:15 p.m. by parishioners.

Mrs. Seuntjens was born at Breda Jan. 6, 1880, a daughter of Henry and Maria Kosten Venner. She lived at Breda until her marriage there to Fred Suentjens on May 29, 1900. The couple farmed at Danbury, where she spent the rest of her life until entering the nursing home at Mapleton. She was a member of the Rosary Society and St. Mary's Church at Danbury.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Cornelia) Erlemeir of Mapleton, Mrs. Albert (Hendrina) Boes of Breda, Mrs. Edmund (Silvina) Dirksen of Danbury and Mrs. Mary Thuma of Lexington, Mich.; six sons, Siebert, Leo and Andrew of Danbury, John of Kingsley, Lawrence of Battle Creek and Wayne of Mapleton.

Also surviving are 44 grandchildren, 105 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, John Venner of Maple River and Steve Venner of Breda.

Mrs. Seuntjens was preceded in death by her husband in 1967, two sons, a sister and a brother.
