DANBURY, Iowa - Clara M. Seuntjens, 86, of Danbury, died Friday, Feb. 21, 1992, at the Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury, with the Rev. James Tigges and her sons, the Rev. LeRoy Seuntjens and the Rev. Cleo Seuntjens, concelebrating. Burial will be in Danbury Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with a Rosary Society rosary at 3:30 p.m. and a vigil wake service at 7:30 p.m., all at the church. Walter-Armstrong Funeral Homes of Danbury/Mapleton is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Seuntjens was born Sept. 1, 1905, at Mt. Carmel, Iowa, daughter of Peter and Catherine (Berger) Ortner. She came to the Danbury community in 1918. She married Siebert H. Seuntjens Aug. 30, 1927, at Danbury. They farmed in the area and moved into Danbury in 1954. Mr. Seuntjens died July 12, 1984. She entered the Maple Heights Nursing Home in 1985.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, and a former member of the adult choir. She was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Danbury Community Club.

Survivors include four sons and two daughters-in-law, Clair and Tootie of Danbury and Ronald and Lois of Mapleton, the Rev. LeRoy of Clair, Iowa, and the Rev. Cleo of Carroll, Iowa; two daughters, Rita Dirksen of Danbury and Helen (Mrs. Gary) Kelley of Sioux City; a brother, Clarence of Battle Creek; two sisters, Frances Waterman of Sioux City and Marie Lynne of Beleaire, Texas; 27 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
