Emma E. Huffman, 86, of Park Ridge Manor Care Center, 4755 Parkridge Drive, Pleasant Hill, died Wednesday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, where she had undergone abdominal surgery. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Cremation will follow, with burial in Winterset Cemetery at a later date.

Mrs. Huffman, formerly a cook and waitress for Griff’s, was born in Peru, Ia., and lived in Winterset and Earlham before moving to Pleasant Hill in 1948. She was a member of Capital City Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Friedmeyer of Des Moines; a son, Lee Eckstein of Indianola; two sisters, Mamie Wright of Winterset and Donna Koller of Dubuque; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Eye Bank in Iowa City.
