Jay Logan Franz, formerly of Marion, died at Orlando, Fla., June 27, 1968. He was born in Marion, Nov. 12, 1886 the son of John Franz and Mary Elizabeth Yount Franz, pioneer residents. He was married to Margaret Giffen on June 15, 1910.
He is survived by his wife, a son, James Franz, who is pastor of a Rochester, New York Presbyterian church, and three grandchildren.
Mr. Franz's career was spent with the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad. He started as a clerk in the Marion office and was Chief clerk of the railroad at the time of retirement in 1951.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Gertie Snyder, Mrs. Maggie May Mason, and Mrs. Stella Erwin and two brothers and a sister died in childhood.
