Committal Services For Former Residents
Committal services for Jay L. Franz and Margaret Giffen Franz will be conducted by Rev. Jean P. Hauter at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oak Shade cemetery.
Mr. Franz was born and reared in Marion, graduated from Marion high school and attended business college in Cedar Rapids. He was assistant to the president of the Milwaukee railroad until his retirement in 1951.
Mrs. Franz, was born and reared in Marion. She studied music and taught a short time in the public schools. After Mr. Franz retired, they moved to Florida, where Mr. Franz died on June 27, 1968, and Mrs. Franz died on Jan. 5, 1969.
Surviving is a son, Rev. James G. Franz of Pittsford, N.Y.
The Murdoch funeral home has charge of arrangements.
