CENTRAL CITY--Fred G. Remington, 68, Central City, former resident of Anamosa, died Wednesday, May 8, following a brief illness at a Cedar Rapids hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 10, at the Passmore chapel. Rev. Dwight Hendricks conducted the service. Interment was in Riverside cemetery, Anamosa.

Pallbearers included Wesley Waterhouse, Carroll Hines, Burnell Hines, Sylvester Powers, Harlan Starry and Marvin McCartney.

He was married Aug. 11, 1915, to Della Grim. He had spent his life farming in the Anamosa and Center Point communities. Couple moved to Central City a few months ago when Mr. Remington retired from farming. He was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Wayne, Buffalo, N.Y.; one daughter, Irene, Mrs. Lester Kula, Anamosa; 15 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Others include two sisters, Mrs. Katie Leeper, Oxford Junction, and Mrs. Minnie Larson; two brothers, Frank Remington and Harry Remington, all of Anamosa.

He was preceded in death by a son, Glendon.
