Harry E. Beals, 55, Dies At His Home In San Benito, Tex.
Harry E. Beals 57, formerly of here, died at his home in San Benito, Texas, Tuesday afternoon at 2L55 o’clock. He had been in failing health for sometime. The Beals moved from Newton two years ago when Mr. Beals’ health failed.
Mr. Beals was born on a farm north of Newton, February 25, 1888 and attended the local schools. On May 29, 1930 he married Cleo Schilling, of Sigourney, at Grinnell. They have made their home here except for sometime spent in Davenport and Grinnell until moving to Texas. He retired from the Maytag company while foreman in the tool room around nine years ago because of his health.
He is a member of the Newton Masonic Lodge and the Congregational church at Grinnell.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Charlotte Beals, of Newton; three brothers, Ralph, of Newton, Harve, of Veedersburg, Ind.; and Ray, of Mingo; a sister, Mrs. Oral Bailey, of Grinnell; seven nieces and nephews and two grand-nieces.
The funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Murdoch Funeral home. Burial will be in the Ira cemetery.
