An Ancestry.com family tree lists your ancestor, Thor Nelson, with a birth date of 30 November 1831 in Hoen Bohma, Norway and a death date of 22 February 1912 in Clare, Webster County, Iowa. He is listed on this family tree as the son of Nels Chitteson and Crgna Austensdotter. There is no source for these parents' names.
I decided to look further for you in Norwegian records since this location did not make sense to me [no fylke/county listed or parish] as a Norwegian researcher, nor did the patronymics of Chitteson and Austensdotter.
I located who I believe to be your ancestor in the Norwegian records as Thor Nilsen, born on 4 October 1831 and baptized on 30 October 1831 in Bamble parish, Telemark, Norway. His parents are: Niels Kittilsen Høen and Signe Ostensdatter. I located Niels and Signe getting married also in Bamble Parish, Telemark on 2 September 1819. I am also including Thor's confirmation record on 11 October 1846 in Bamble Parish, Telemark, Norway. The farm they resided on was Høen which is similar to Hoen Bohma. Bamble is pronounced 'Bom-leh'. This is probably how Høen Bamble became Hoen Bohma. Hope this helps!
