I am sorry I mussed your response last year. I wouild like to know what info you have that documents john's parents as Wm and Eliza. I believe he was the son of Wm and Catherine (Long) Clark from Kentucky. I have several letters and other documents to support that. I agree with the info you have on Sanford Butler, including his marriage to Elizabeth Nelson. I didn't know about his earlier marriage to Harriet Clark.
John had 6 sisters; Mary, Susan, Elizabeth, Catherine, Agnes, and Missouri. None of them lived or died in Iowa. He also had 5 brothers.
