Wayland News - June 12, 1969

Committal services were held Friday afternoon, June 6, 1969, at the Wayland Cemetery for a former Wayland woman, Mrs. Gladys Allen Conrad, who died Friday, May 30, at Seattle, Washington where she had lived since 1921. She was born at Wayland March 18, 1895, the daughter of Will and Emma Kauffman Allen. She was a graduate of Wayland High School and taught school for a number of years before going to Seattle.

In 1921 she married Sam Conrad, who preceded her in death in July, 1962.

Surviving are two step-children; one sister, Mrs. Ira Jessup of Long Beach, California, three aunts, Mrs. Mae Jones of Washington, Mrs. Eda Boshart of Wayland, and Mrs. Carl Hedges of Tampa, Florida, and many other relatives in the Wayland community.

Funeral services were held in Seattle, Washington Tuesday at 1:30 P.M.
