Death came to Hans Petersen, 84, a resident of the Bayard Care Center. He was a patient in the Guthrie County Hospital when he died August 9.
A retired farmer from the Guthrie Center area, his services were held Friday from the Guthrie Center Methodist Church with Pastor, Rev Rick Layman officiating. Interment was made in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon County.
He is survived by his wife, Sophia, and daughters, Geraldine Twidt, Ankeny; Marilyn Heckman, Adair; Shirley McClelland, Des Moines; sons, Merle, Guthrie Center; Melvin, Council Bluffs; Dallas, McClelland; Jack, Abilene, Texas, and Don of Des Moines. There are 27 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, Surviving brothers are Chris and Alfred of Audubon and Lawrence of Manning and the sisters are Mata Loft, Blair, Nebr; Alive Hansen Kimballton, and Elnora Bryant, Des Moines.
