Mrs. Clara Gertrude Whalen, 76, died died Saturday in Mercy Hospital.She was born Aug 18 1887 in Burlington, the daughter of John and ELizabeth Bolster Fisch. SHe married Oliver J. Whalen in Burlington on June 7, 1905. Mrs. Whalen was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Legion of Mary, and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Margaret Whalen of Burlington; one son Frank J. Whalen of Davenport; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. in St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited in Prugh's Chapel Monday at 7:30 p.m.
