James William Dunegan Sr., 70, 1405 S. 12th St., Burlington, died at 1215 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 1997, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Oct. 30, 1926, in Burlington, he was the son of Amos and Ida Scarff Dunegan. On Sept. 19, 1946, he married Mary Ann Gahn in Burlington.
Mr. Dunegan was an ironworker through Local 577 in Burlington for 35 years.
He was of the Protestant faith. He was a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Jim Dunegan Jr., of Glendale, Ariz.; three daughters, Chris Bernhart of Burlington, Debra Vierling of Mediapolis and Ronda McGowan of Muscatine; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Prugh's.
The body of Mr. Dunegan will be cremated. Private burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
