Barbara Jean Trautman, 76, of Burlington, died at 11:42 AM Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born November 10, 1937, in Quincy, IL, she was the daughter of Lester Dennis and Alice Amanda Moss Cheely. She married Donnell Eugene Trautman. He preceded her in death in 1998.

Barbara worked as a certified nursing assistant at Burlington Care Center.

She was a past member of Moose Lodge #579. She enjoyed shopping and playing bingo. She was an avid NASCAR and St. Louis Cardinals fan. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include four sons, Danny (Heidi) Swank, Roger George, and Jeff (Sue) George, all of Burlington and Jimmy George of Florida; two daughters, Amy Swank of Centerville and Kathy Myatt of California; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marylin Wahl of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Glenn George, Jr.; four grandsons, Chad Connelly, Sr., Gatling Fry, Damien George, and Wayne Hartman, Jr.; seven brothers; and five sisters.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Thielen Crematory.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2014 where the family will receive friends.

The memorial service for Mrs. Trautman will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Graber officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
