Howard Lee Sinclair, age 76, was born June 2, 1941, at Iowa City, Iowa and died on November 21, 2017, at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Howard was the third child of seven born to Russell Clinton and Olive May (Story) Sinclair. He went to first grade in Indianola, Iowa before the family moved to Summerset, Iowa, where he attended through the eighth grade. He went back to Indianola for ninth grade, to Pleasantville for his tenth, then back to Indianola for his eleventh year. Howard quit school in the middle of that year and joined the United States Navy in January of 1959. He served one year aboard YSD as a crane operator and three years aboard the USS Hornet. Following his honorable discharge in December of 1962, he lived in California for two years working as a truck driver.

It was during this time he met his first wife, Renate. He was a proud stepfather of three children, Suezet, Rickie, and Eric. They moved back to Iowa in 1964, and shortly after that his first daughter, Brenda Lee, was born. Howard worked for Eagle Iron Works in Des Moines, Iowa for three years before going to work at Firestone Tire and Rubber for 25 years.

While at Firestone he met and married his second wife, Sue, and once again became the proud stepfather to a son, Wayne Good. In July of 1974, his second daughter, Sebrena Marie, was born.

Howard married his third wife, Debra Jean Mills, no children were born to this union. In 1988, and 1991, he was blessed with two grandchildren, Stephanie Nichole and Brandon Scott Blaine.

As a child Howard learned to hunt and fish. As the stories go, his mother never knew what he was going to bring home for her to cook. Howard was always willing to take and teach anyone his skills on hunting and fishing. Howard also liked working in his yard and garden. He was a member of the Local 310 Rubber Workers Union and Friends of Nine Eagles, where he volunteered many hours raising money and putting in playgrounds, shelter houses, and cabins for the DNR at Nine Eagles State Park.
