Renee Lynn Simoff, age 63, of Davis City, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred and Mildred Frances (Bryan) Hollars, was born January 30, 1954, at Rock Island, Illinois. She died at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa on Sunday, November 5, 2017.

Renee grew up in the Quad Cities area. Following her high school graduation in 1972, she took secretarial classes from Black Hawk College in Moline, Illinois.

On July 24, 1990, she married Steven Nicholas Simoff in Davenport, Iowa. She already had daughter, Mindie, and together they adopted son, Steven, in 1995. Over their 27-year marriage, the family lived in Davenport, Lamoni, and Davis City, Iowa. Renee was a homemaker for her family and a caretaker of some others.

She enjoyed fishing, camping, and anything outdoors.

Preceding her in death were her parents; infant granddaughter, Miranda Hollars; and brothers, Rex Hollars, Donald Hollars, and Paul Hollars.

Survivors include her husband, Steve Simoff, of Davis City, Iowa; daughter, Mindie Lee, and husband, Tim Wickett, of Truro, Iowa; son, Steven Simoff, and wife, Samantha “Sami” of Davis City; nine grandchildren, Jeffery Dowler, Beverly Lee, Bryan Simoff, Colt Phillips, Flynn Phillips, Aleeah Phillips, Brandon Wickett, Aeric Wickett, and Jennifer Wickett; five great grandchildren, Treavor Wickett, Angel Wickett, Micheal Wickett, Autumn Wickett, and Chase Engen; siblings, Michael Hollars of Bettendorf, Iowa, Wayne Hollars of Davenport, Iowa, and Laurie Robinson, and husband, Rick, of Bettendorf; step siblings, Mary Marbury of St. Louis, Missouri, Tina Sheets and husband, Ray, of Davenport, Fred Spidle and Milton Spidle, both of Davenport; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
