Several days ago the NEWS mentioned an operation for strangulated hernia which was performed upon Mr. Geo. N. Heckerman, the fireman at the Clinton Lumber Co's. The operation was too great a shock to the nervous system and Mr. Heckerman died at four o'clock Saturday afternoon. Deceased was 45 years of age and has lived in Clinton a number of years during which he has made many friends. He was a soldier during the war and his funeral will be conducted by the G. A. R.
Mr. Heckerman leaves a wife and three children to mourn his death. The funeral takes place Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock from the M. E. church.
