The funeral of the late James M. Orway occurred from the residence of N. A. Felch on North Second street at 10 o'clock Friday morning, and was largely attended by friends and acquaintances of the murdered man. Messrs. Francis Lee, R. S. Seaman, Wm. O'Donnell, j. L. Rumery, Geo. Bryant and Larkin Upton acted as pall-bearers and burial occurred in Springdale cemetery.
Deceased came to Clinton in 1856 and was the first Marshal this city had. He also held other minor city offices at an early day. He was well known by all old settlers of this county, and his sad and untimely death is regretted by all. Mr. Ordway was 71 years old, and leaves a wife and son in this city.
