AT REST.
On Sunday evening, after a life well and nobly spent, full of years and full of those modest honors which are seldom vouchsafed to mortal man, the spirit of the venerable Saml. Crozer was released from its tenement of clay and took its flight into the realm of everlasting bliss.

One of the best known men in Clinton was Saml. Crozer. From the city's earliest history until the attach which made him an invalid he was a familiar form on our streets. For a while he was missed, having spent a year or two in visiting relatives and friends in the west. But for him there was no place like Clinton, and upon his return he settled down in his newly built home on Fifth avenue to spend the remainder of his days.

Mr. Crozer was one of the most companionable men one would ever care to meet. He greeted every one with a smile and a graceful wave of the hand. In the discharge of the duties of Justice of the Peace, which office he held for many years, he won and held the confidence of all who had business with him. A man of superior business qualifications, yet in the later years of his life he preferred the quiet of home to engaging in any business that would in the least deprive him of the pleasures of the fireside.

He was born in Ohio in 1813 and hence at the time of his death had reached the hale old age of 75 years.

The funeral took place on Tuesday from his late residence, and there old and young assembled to pay respect to his memory. The services were conducted in an impressive manner by the Rev. J. D. Burrell, of the Presbyterian church. A large concourse of relatives and citizens followed the remains to Springdale cemetery.

A loving and devoted husband, an affectionate father, a true friend, a pure minded citizen, hail and farewell to all that was early of Samuel Crozer.
