MATTHEW JACOBS FUNERAL IS WEDNESDAY

CALAMUS - Matthew Philip Jacobs, 21, of Calamus, died Sunday in Grand Mound.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt, with the Rev. Ronald H. Goodsman officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Calamus.

He was born May 27, 1975, in Clinton, to Philip and Andrea Galitz Jacobs.

He was a 1994 graudate of Calamus-Wheatland Community Schools. He received his assiate degree in ag business and agronomy in May 1996 from Kirkwood Community College, Cedar Rapids. He had been accepted to Iowa State University, Ames where he would have been a junior this fall.

This summer he was doing an intership at American Cyanimid.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt.

Survivors include his parents Hall and Andrea Shelton of Calamus; two brothers, Joshua Jacobs and Luke Shelton, both of Calamus; grandparents, John and Rose Galitz of DeWitt, Ellen Jacobs of Grand Mound, and DeVern and Joan Shelton of Calamus.

He was preceded in death by his father.
