JACOBS FUNERAL IN TUESDAY

GRAND MOUND - Ellen E. Jacobs, 95, died Friday at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Mound, with the Rev. Terry Ellis officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Schultz Funeral Home in Grand Mound. Burial will be in Buena Vista Cemetery in rural Grand Mound.

Pallbearers will be David Case, Steven Jacobs, Brian Long, Andrew Math, Nicholas Math and Joshua Jacobs.

She was born Aug. 30, 1905, in Calamus, to August and Caroline Christensen Vetter. She married Everett Jacobs on Aug. 14, 1931, at the Buena Vista country church. He died Nov. 19, 1966.

She taught at the old stone school in Buena Vista for seven years. The couple were dairy farmers noth of Grand Mound. The couple moved to Grand Mound in 1972.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was active in Ladies Aid, its Bible study group, Fellowship Club and LWMI. She also was member of the Friendly Neighbors Club and Farm Bureau.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Carol (Robert) Long of Westminster, CA, Mrs. Esther (Alan) Peterson of Garden Grove, CA, and Mrs. Nancy (Edward) Math of Davenport; two sons, Howard Jacobs of DeWitt and Dale Jacobs of Chicago Heights, IL; 24 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son and two grandchildren.
