Mr. Adolph Carlson.

Mr. Adolph Carlson was born in Sweden November 18, 1831, and departed this life April 17, 1905. Deceased came to this country something like fifty years ago. He had been a citizen of Clarke county for about five years. He was a blacksmith and lived by himself and was esteemed and respected by all those who knew him and although he had no relatives that anyone knew of here to care for him in his last days, he was not left alone for kind friends and neighbors who had always found him to be an honest, Christian man, did all that they could for him during his afflictions and after death claimed him his remains were nicely and tenderly laid to rest in Bethel Chapel cemetery on Tuesday afternoon April 18th, funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mrs. Zike, of Norwood.

The above date of deceased birth is as near correct as we can get it as he had told friends during his stay here that his birthday occurred on the 18th of November and that he was about seventy-four years of age. S.S.
