Alice Lucile Chumbley

Alice Lucile, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Chumbley, died at her home near Medora, on October 16, 1916, at the age of 2 years, 2 months and 11 days. The little one was only sick a few hours. While everything possible was done for the little sufferer by those in attendance, it availed not, and she peacefully passed away. She leaves to mourn, a father, mother, three sisters and two brothers and a host of relatives and friends. To the parents and bereaved relative the sympathy of all goes out. The funeral was conducted at 2:30 Wednesday, October 18th, by Rev. James of Jamison. Interment in the Bethel Chapel cemetery.

When we see a precious blossom
that we tended with such care
Rudely taken from our bossom,
how our aching hearts despair!
Round its little grave we linger,
'till the setting sun's low
Feeling all our hopes have perished
with the flowers we cherished so
We shall sleep but not forever
there will be a glorious dawn,
We shall meet to part no never,
on the resurrection morn.
