Miss Marie Danner.

Marie Danner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Danner, was born in Lucas, Iowa, August 11, 1900 and passed away at her home in Ottumwa, Ia., July 25, 1921 at the age of 20 years, 11 months and 14 days. She was the only daughter among five children. She was very patient during her long illness of typhoid fever. She with her parents moved to Ottumwa in March, 1919, and was employed in the Macagarty Restaurant at that place at time of her death. It was a great shock to her relatives and friends when the word reached Woodburn Monday evening telling them of her death, as she was on the road to recovery. Mrs. Nellie Cronin, her aunt, and Mr. James Cronin, her cousin, went on the No. 2 where they joined her brother William Danner, wife and son. Everything was done for her that loving hands could do but God had called for her and she was ready to go. She was a true and faithful member of the Catholic church. She had a kind and loving disposition which gained her many friends. The funeral was held at Woodburn when the body was brought on No. 3 Thursday morning from her home, 1007 East 2nd St. Ottumwa, where Father Sullivan of Chariton, officiated. Mr. Roney of Ottumwa had charge of the funeral. She leaves to mourn her death her father and mother and four brothers, William of Creston, Pearl, Paul and Gerald of Ottumwa, and her aged grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. James, and her great aunt, Mrs. Ellen Duggan of Woodburn, besides her aunts, uncles and cousins. Six of her cousins were pallbearers which were William, Ray, Joe, Ernie and Johnie James and James Cronin. The body was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. Those who attended the funeral from out of town were Mr. J. J. James and family of Chariton, and Mr. Robert Burns of Ottumwa.

We wish to thank our kind neighbors and friends for the loving kindness during the long illness and death of our dear daughter and sister. We wish to thank her many friends for the beautiful floral offerings.

Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Danner
and family.
